What is a Surety Policy?

Surety insurance is a contract whereby an Aseguradora garantiza a favor de un tercero denominado el Insurer (InSur), provides a guarantee to a nominated third party, the Insured / Beneficiary, ensuring the Purchaser / Proponent with respect to compliance of a contractual obligation.

Therefore the Insurer (InSur) becomes obliged to indemnify the Insured / Beneficiary for a determined amount with respect to the damage caused by the Purchaser, resulting from his non compliance.

Tipos de Póliza

Con Liquidador

Este tipo de póliza se distingue por la intervención de un liquidador al momento de un siniestro, quien determina el monto a indemnizar y cuantifica la pérdida. El liquidador tiene un plazo de 90 días para presentar un informe y la indemnización se paga después de los 30 días siguientes al informe del liquidador.

A Primer Requerimiento y de Ejecución Inmediata

En este tipo de póliza quien determina el monto a indemnizar es el asegurado y se paga contra el requerimiento de éste, sin la intermediación de un liquidador. El pago puede ser a los 30 días o a la vista. Semejante a las boletas bancarias.
